Home/Technology/What im Learning while Building My first Squarespace 6 Site for a client

unfortunately i didnt think of writing all this down untill now, im about 5 hours into this so, I might try to fill this back in after ive finsihed , will see how the post works out.

on my mind write now is editing the Blockquote module.

I want to edit the blockquote style , change the text color , indent font and maybe box it up with rounded corners. a quick google show simply that editing the css file using the standard

blockquote {
 font-size: 19px;
}

you can edit the css in the style mode , on the LHS at the bottom is a button which will bring up a editor

nice one SQSP you kept it easy.

I wanted my blockquote to stand out a bit i wanted it to be blocked out( serperate ) from the page, after a bit of playing i came up with this

blockquote {
font-size: 19px;
 display: block;
 color: #fff;
 text-indent: 2em;
 background:#444;
 border-left:10px solid #fe5f1b;
 margin:1.7em 10px;
 padding:.5em 10px;
 quotes:"201C""201D""2018""2019";
 }
blockquote:before {
 color:#fe5f1b;
 content:open-quote;
 font-size:4em;
 line-height:.1em;
 margin-right:.25em;
 vertical-align:-.4em;
 }
blockquote:after {
 color:#fe5f1b;
 content:close-quote;
 font-size:4em;
 line-height:.1em;
 margin-right:.25em;
 vertical-align:-.4em;
 }
blockquote p {
 display:inline;
 }

Which will look like this

Blockquote in Squarespace 6

its nice that everytime you change the CSS in the pop out editor it changes imdeiatly in your preview window, cheers squarespace.

heres afew other snippets i have come across

Navigation menu decoration

#main-navigation a:hover{
text-decoration: underline;
}

Thats it for now, i learnt lots more but it all started to un-ravel, so im giving up for today
